Common questions
The QR code isn't working
Make sure you open the full link from the QR (including the secret code in the URL). Sign in with Google if prompted. If the item requires proximity, allow location access and stand near the venue. If the collectible is inactive or expired, it cannot be claimed.
Location permission denied
Ping and some claims need GPS. Open your browser site settings for spotted.gi, allow Location, then reload. On iOS Safari, also check Settings → Safari → Location. Indoor GPS can be inaccurate — step outside briefly if a claim fails for distance.
It says I already collected it
Each collectible can only be claimed once per account. Check your collection — if it is already there, you are all set.
Username issues
Usernames cannot be changed after they are set. Reserved names (e.g. admin, support) are blocked. To report an abusive or impersonating username, email us with details.
Will more finds appear during our holiday?
Yes. Spotted.gi adds specials, one-offs, and marketing drops over time — there isn’t a fixed “complete the set” total. Visitors and locals can keep checking Ping and new QR spots around Gibraltar.
Can kids use Spotted.gi?
Spotted.gi is aimed at kids, teens, and families on vacation, and locals are welcome too. Younger hunters may need a parent’s help to sign in with Google and allow location. Stay aware of traffic and follow venue rules when scanning codes.
Still stuck
Email support@spotted.gi and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
